Generally referred to as the IHS, this program currently services almost two million Native Americans across the USA in over thirty five of its fifty one states for over half a century now. Its goal is to ensure that these citizens have comprehensive public health services that are essential to their well being but which are also culturally acceptable on a personal level for each of these individuals to raise and maintain their physical, mental, social and spiritual health to the highest possible levels. There are also some emergency only clinics dotted around the city however these offer very basic services and are generally open business hours only – Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
