Employment

The Claremore Police Department prides itself on its reputation as a progressive and professional organization. In 2004, Claremore Police Department became only the 6th municipal police agency in the State of Oklahoma to meet the rigid professional standards required to achieve the status of Accreditation by The Oklahoma Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP).

We believe that continuing education is the cornerstone for providing the community with qualified professional officers. Our department provides officers with the most up-to-date equipment and training.  In addition, the City offers college tuition assistance to all employees.

The Department offers take-home car program and is in the process of equipping each of marked patrol vehicles with a video camera system for officer safety and evidence purposes.

Training

Our department has a successful firearms training program held at our departmental range. The state-of-the-art firing range has a computerized target system, including moving and running targets. All officers must attend monthly and semi-annual qualifications by our state certified range masters.
