The City of Claremore Community Development Services Department helps guide growth and development within the city’s corporate limits. The team actively works with a number of agencies to coordinate efforts and ensure good practice and compliance.

Comprehensive Plan: Future City

The Claremore 2040 Comprehensive Plan resulted from a 15-month planning and citizen involvement process beginning in January 2018 with adoption in March 2019. The plan’s findings and recommendations focus on the physical and economic aspects of the community’s projected growth and development in the coming years.

Comprehensive Plan: Special Districts

The Claremore Special Districts Plan were developed in tandem with the Claremore 2040 Comprehensive Plan and adopted in June 2019 to focus on four distinct geographies: West Bend | University District, Will Rogers Corridor District, Downtown District, and Historic Route 66 District. The Special Districts Plan include a fine-grained assessment of existing conditions and future needs and opportunities in each area with customized action strategies that include more design detail and in-depth consideration of implementation.

Unified Development Code

A Unified Development Code (UDC) has been one of the primary initiatives stemming from the Claremore 2040 Comprehensive Plan. A UDC is generally a set of rules that impact what individuals can do with their land and where/how they can locate their home or business. These important set of rules impact our everyday lives and are currently being updated through this process.
