City Council Update - April 5, 2021

We are pleased to share the following updates from the Claremore City Council meeting held on Apr. 5, 2021.

  • An amended agreement with Oklahoma Natural Gas (ONG) was approved to relocate a gas line in conflict with improvements proposed at the Lowry Culverts. ONG has agreed to reduce the amount after an error with its original bid.
  • After presenting data showing a steady decline in COVID-related hospitalizations and infection rates and an increase in the rate of Rogers County vaccinations, the Council voted to repeal (effective immediately) the citywide ordinance requiring face coverings and social distancing. Repealing the citywide ordinance does not supersede mask requirements of area businesses. Businesses may still require face coverings to be worn according to the standards established by individual owners.
  • A collective bargaining agreement between the City of Claremore and the Claremore Fire Union (IAFF Local 1077) was approved for the 2021-2022 fiscal year.
