City of Claremore announces selection of Stan Brown as Assistant City Manager

Our community is continuing to experience a season of exciting growth and development. Over the past year, we have welcomed new business operations, housing developments and quality of life amenities. In addition, we have upheld our commitment to updating and improving city infrastructure while strategically implementing long-term planning efforts, such as the Uniform Development Code, to streamline processes and position Claremore for future advancement.

With this growth comes the opportunity to expand our team to ensure we are best serving and communicating with the citizens of Claremore. I am thrilled to announce that Chief Stan Brown will assume the role of Assistant City Manager beginning June 1. Many of you know Stan, who has served our community for over 28 years with the Claremore Police Department.

Stan has proudly served as Claremore Police Chief for the last 12 years. Under his leadership, our department has become a premiere law enforcement agency. While I could give countless examples of his impact, what stands out above all else is the level of professionalism the department has achieved through training and accreditation by exceeding training standards.

I am thrilled to retain Stan on our City staff and utilize his tremendous cache of leadership qualities and community knowledge in this new role. As Assistant City Manager, he will assist by using his strategic thinking and communication skillset to steward leadership training and succession planning throughout all departments. In addition, he will serve as a conduit for citizens and businesses to City Hall.

I rely on Stan’s wisdom, guidance and friendship daily and am excited to watch him continue to make a lasting impact on Claremore.

Until next time,

John W. Feary
