CLAREMORE, Okla. — Beginning Monday, July 6, 2026, the City of Claremore will implement updated operating hours for select departments and facilities as part of an effort to improve public access, enhance employee scheduling flexibility and better align services with community needs.
While not all departments are able to adjust hours due to the essential nature of their services, several key changes will take effect across City operations.
City Hall and Community Development
Claremore City Hall and the Community Development Department will operate under the following schedule:
- Monday through Thursday: 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
- Friday: 7:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
This updated schedule expands public access both earlier in the morning and after traditional business hours during the week, while also extending early morning access on Fridays. These adjustments are designed to provide greater flexibility for residents who may be unable to conduct business during standard 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. hours.
Public Works Department
The Public Works Department, including Streets, Water, Stormwater, Sewer, Engineering, and Power & Light, will transition to a four-day work schedule consisting of 10-hour workdays, Monday through Thursday.
Sanitation services will transition to the new schedule in the fall following the implementation of updated residential collection routes and service day adjustments.
No Changes to Public Safety and Community Services
The following departments and facilities will maintain their current operating hours and schedules:
- Parks Department
- Recreation Center
- Expo Center
- Senior Center
- Community Center
- Fleet Maintenance
- Library
- Cemetery Operations
- Police Department
- Fire Department
Please note, Public Works hours may vary seasonally as daylight conditions and operational needs change throughout the year.
These adjustments are designed to improve efficiency while continuing to provide reliable, accessible services to residents across all departments.
