The City of Claremore is ushering in the holiday season with the highly anticipated return of The Lights at Claremore Lake. This beloved community tradition, which is free and open to the public, begins Wednesday, November 27, offering visitors a magical experience filled with exciting new features.
This year, new features to the lights display will include whimsical woodland animals, a reindeer photo station, an elf workshop and more. Returning favorites like the 12 Days of Christmas displays and giant candy canes will also light up the park, ensuring something for everyone to enjoy. Last year, more than 33860 cars drove through the display, showcasing the event’s popularity as a must-see holiday attraction.
The light displays will begin at the Blue Starr Road entrance and wind through Claremore Lake Park, with photo opportunities available throughout the route. Visitors are encouraged to capture and share their memories using the hashtag #ClaremoreLakeLights. The lights will be illuminated nightly from dusk to 10:00 p.m. until January 6, 2025.
“The Lights at Claremore Lake would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of the Claremore Parks and Recreation Department and Claremore Power and Light,” said Claremore City Manager, John Feary. “Special recognition goes to Mary Taber and Todd Rue for their leadership and creative vision in bringing this holiday event to life. The City of Claremore also extends its gratitude to the Grand River Dam Authority (GRDA), whose ongoing support continues to enhance and expand this cherished community tradition.”
