The holiday season is officially here! From our beautifully decorated downtown streets to the giant Christmas Tree standing in the heart of NeMar Shopping Center, something magical happens across Claremore this time of year!
The City of Claremore is excited to bring back another beloved community tradition this year. The Lights at Claremore Lake are shining along our lakeside pathways. This year, we are excited to offer visitors new surprise features, including lights along the lake dam and a Nutcracker army. Guests will also see some familiar favorites, like the 12 Days of Christmas displays, giant candy canes and the holiday alligators. Last year, our light displays saw more than 27,000 cars drive through, and we only hope to see this number grow in 2023!
The Claremore Lake Lights begin at the Blue Starr Road entrance and weave throughout the park. Photo opportunities are available throughout the display. Use the hashtag #claremorelakelights to capture your and share your memories.
The lake will be illuminated through the New Year, concluding on January 6. The lights begin each night at dusk, and there is no cost to enjoy.
This incredible community event was made possible by the efforts of our Claremore Parks and Recreation and Claremore Power and Light departments. Each team has dedicated many hours to creatively building unique light displays. This event is only possible with their efforts. I would like to recognize Mary Taber and Todd Rue for their roles with this project. The Claremore Lake Light display is the product of their leadership and vision.
I would also like to recognize our partner in public power, GRDA, whose support has enabled us to continue and expand this beloved community tradition.
As we enter this special time of year, I encourage you to take advantage of all Claremore offers during the holidays. As you host family and guests, explore our unique retail options, enjoy a delicious meal at one of many incredible dining locations and end your night with a drive through the beautiful lights at Claremore Lake.
Wishing you a wonderful holiday season!
