Claremore Prepares for Historic Andy Payne Route 66 Race

Claremore is gearing up to kick off its Route 66 Centennial celebrations tomorrow, Saturday, April 11, with the Andy Payne Route 66 Race!

With more than 300 runners expected, this year’s race is shaping up to be record-breaking. The half marathon begins at 8:30 a.m., followed by the 5K at 9:00 a.m.

🚧 Traffic Notice:
During race hours, Route 66 from Foyil to Lowry Road will be reduced to two-way traffic using the eastbound lanes. Additional closures will be in place on Claremore city streets between Claremore Lake and the Claremore Museum of History. Please see the map below for an overview of the complete race course and anticipated road closures.
Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, or consider alternate routes. All roads are expected to reopen by 1:00 p.m.
