Fishing and boating are allowed in Claremore Lake with a permit. Both Day Passes and Annual Permits are available.
Daily permits are $3 for fishing and $3 for boating.
Annual permits are $10 for fishing and $10 for boating.
The cost of a boating permit is $5 per year for all Claremore utility customers.
City of Claremore utility customers can fish for free with a recent utility bill.
Ages 15 and under and 50+ are free
All fees can be paid at the Lake Ranger Office during business hours, or placed in the drop box inside the enclosed dock or by the boat ramps.
Rules for both fishing and boating on Claremore Lake can be found below. Please ensure you are familiar with these guidelines prior to visiting the Lake.
Heated Fishing Dock
Claremore Lake has an enclosed, heated fishing dock. It is open every day from 6:00 a.m. – 9:30 p.m. Please call the Parks and Rec office at 918-342-2522 to check availability. Only daily permits are available for the dock.
No children under the age of five are permitted on the dock. Children between the ages of five and 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

$4 for non-City of Claremore utility customers
$3 for City of Claremore utility customers, disabled or senior citizens

No Swimming
No wading, swimming, water skiing, bathing, scuba or skin diving will be permitted at any time. Jet skis and water bikes (jet boats) are also prohibited.
Liability Release
Any person or persons going on Claremore Lake in a privately-owned boat, any person fishing from the bank, or any person or persons engaging in any sport or amusement on Claremore Lake does so at his/her own risk.

Fish Sizes & Numbers
Minimum size and the number of game fish that may be taken are governed by the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation (ODWC) Regulations.
All Black, Kentucky and Spotted Bass between 12 inches and 15 inches must immediately be returned unharmed to the water.
There is a 6 per person per day limit on all other bass. There is a 15 per person/per day limit on crappie (Black & White) with no length restrictions.
Equipment
Fishing by net, seine, spear gun, bow and arrow, gun or trap is prohibited. Throw nets can be used for shad only.
Unused bait and fish remains should be disposed of properly. Do not dispose of these remains in the lake or on adjacent lands.
Trot lines and limb lines must be marked in accordance with the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation(ODWC) Regulations.
Boats must be launched and retrieved only at the designated boat ramp located at the Lake Ranger Office.
One or two-person (bass) boats powered by electric trolling motors will be allowed.
Metal boats shall have at least two air compartments.
Fire extinguishers are required for all boats with permanently installed fuel tanks, portable fuel tanks placed in closed areas or areas where combustible or flammable materials are stored.
All vessels, when in use, shall have safety equipment, including personal flotation devices, on board in compliance with U.S. Coast Guard boating safety requirements and in compliance with boating safety laws issued and enforced by the State of Oklahoma.
All boats must be lighted with front and rear lights of proper color for night use.
Boats shall not exceed 10 miles per hour within 300 feet of the dam or boat ramp. Additionally, speed shall be reduced so that no appreciable wake is produced within 100 feet of another occupied boat. In other areas of the lake, the maximum speed limit shall be 40 miles per hour.
Motorboats shall stay at least 300 feet from any bank or anchored fisherman while cruising, and as near the middle of any channel as practical.
All vessels or watercraft so required by federal, state or local laws shall display an appropriate registration on board whenever the vessel is operated on Claremore Lake.
Kayaks over 8ft are allowed on the lake.
No rowboats or motor-powered boats may be operated or placed on Claremore Lake having dimensions of less than 8 feet in length. 8-foot boats shall not carry more than 2 passengers while upon the lake.
The placement and/or operation of any vessel or watercraft for a fee or profit upon Claremore Lake waters or land is prohibited.
The operation of boats or other watercraft in a careless, negligent, or reckless manner so as to endanger property or person (including the operator and/or user(s) of the vessel or watercraft) is prohibited.
Jet skis are prohibited.
Paddle boards are prohibited.
Any act or conduct by any person which interferes with, impedes or disrupts the use of Claremore Lake, or impairs the safety of another person is prohibited.
The Lake Ranger on duty has the authority to request any individuals who are boisterous, rowdy, disorderly or otherwise disturb the peace on Claremore Lake lands or water to leave.
The operation or use of any audio or other noise producing devise including, but not limited to, radios, televisions, musical instruments or motorized equipment, including vessels or vehicles, in such a manner as to endanger or unreasonably annoy persons at any time or exceed State or local laws governing noise levels is prohibited.
Destruction, injury, defacement, removal or any alteration of public property including, but not limited to, developed facilities, natural formation, mineral deposits, historical and archaeological features and vegetative growth, is prohibited.
