Recycling

The City of Claremore encourages proper disposal of all materials. For residential recycling, the City contracts with the Metropolitan Environmental Trust to offer a free drop-off recycling center. The facility accepts:

  • Newspaper
  • Cardboard (broken down and flattened)
  • Office paper and junk mail
  • Magazines
  • Phone books
  • #1 and #2 plastics (examples: water bottles and detergent bottles)
  • Aluminum cans
  • Glass bottles
  • Batteries (household and automotive)
  • Used cooking oil
  • Used motor oil (limit 5 gallons per day)
  • Steel cans
  • Eyeglasses
  • Electronic waste (a disposal fee for cathode ray televisions will apply.

The facility is staffed by clients of the Light of Hope non-profit organization who experience barriers to employment.

There are several Claremore companies that accept items, such as tires, fluorescent bulbs, antifreeze, etc., that our drop-off site cannot accept.
