Claremore Public Works crews will be operating around the clock throughout the winter weather event. The City has eight snow plows and additional equipment actively working to clear roadways as conditions allow.
To ensure public safety, clearing operations will prioritize:
Major arterial streets
Collector streets and residential neighborhoods will be addressed as time and conditions permit.
Travel during this storm is strongly discouraged. If travel is unavoidable, please plan for significant delays and hazardous conditions.
For your safety and the safety of crews:
Maintain a minimum distance of 200 feet behind snow plows
Never attempt to pass plows while they are operating
For everyone’s safety, trash service will be delayed due to road conditions. Monday’s routes will run on Tuesday, Tuesday’s on Wednesday, and service will continue one day behind for the remainder of the week.
Homeowners with plumbing susceptible to freezing should take preventive steps, including:
Opening cabinet doors near plumbing to allow warm air circulation
Allowing faucets to drip slowly during periods of extreme cold
