Claremore Recreation Center offers residents more than 80,000 square feet of recreational space filled with amenities. Members have access to various courts, exercise equipment, a swimming pool, and an indoor walking/jogging track.
The Center originally opened in 1999 and cost $7.1 million. Funds for the construction were generated from a temporary 1-penny sales tax. Operations and maintenance funds for the facility come from memberships, reservations, swim lessons, and activity fees.
The City remains dedicated to maintaining and upkeeping the Recreation Center facilities. Recent improvements include the replacement of approximately $80,000 in cardiovascular and strength equipment and added new floors to the locker rooms and front reception area.
